SES will hold its annual conference in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 19-21, 2025. This year's theme of “Unmasking the Future of Standardization” will bring together standards professionals from around the world to share experiences and best practices in standards development and conformity assessment. This conference attracts standardization professionals from across the globe and includes a forward-thinking program on the most cutting-edge topics in standards and conformity assessment. 

SES invites speakers to submit proposals for presentations of topics relevant to standardization and conformity assessment. Some topics for consideration include (but are not limited to):

• Workforce Engagement
• International Standards and Harmonization
• Emerging Technologies
• Business Driven Standards Development Solutions

Submission Guidelines

Conference participants are invited to submit proposals for original presentations that have not previously been presented at an SES Conference. There are two main submission types: Presentation Idea (One person presenting an idea) or Session Idea (a group of presentations or a stand-alone topic for discussion). Submissions must be submitted using the online submission form by September 6, 2024 at 11:59 pm PT. All submissions should be well-written and provide a clear indication of the subject matter to be presented and how SES conference attendees will be engaged. Learning objectives should be concise statements about what conference attendees should expect to learn as a result of the presentation. 

Review Process

All submissions will be reviewed by the SES Conference Planning Committee. The SES Conference Planning Committee carefully considers all proposals to select the best for this year's conference. Selection criteria will include relevance to the SES audience and fit with the overall conference program. Final decisions on acceptance will be made by the chair of the SES Conference Program Committee.

Terms of Agreement

If their proposal is selected for the 2025 SES Annual Conference, presenters will:

• Confirm their availability to speak during a specified date and time during the conference in the proposed format.
• Work closely with the SES Conference Program Committee and/or SES Managing Director to meet all deadlines leading up to the conference.
• Develop a high-quality presentation in the selected format.
• Avoid promoting a particular service or product via the presentation.
• Give SES permission to promote the presentation as part of conference marketing, record the presentation, and make any slides developed for the presentation available on the SES website after the conference.
