Available Volunteer Positions

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with SES, the Society for Standardization Professionals. Each year, we open our Call for Volunteers, inviting members to contribute their time and expertise to support the standardization profession. SES offers various engagement levels to suit your schedule and commitment level.

Committee Members: Commit approximately two hours a month to support committee activities, such as:

  • Competencies work
  • Conference program development
  • Conference sponsorship outreach
  • Fundamentals Education Course support
  • Open session support at conferences
  • Webinar support
  • Journal contributions
  • Membership development and retention
  • Annual Awards Program support
  • Student Scholarship Program support

Micro-Volunteering: For those with limited time, micro-volunteering activities are brief and focused:

  • Author articles for the SES blog, and assist with marketing pieces
  • Serve as an SES Buddy or mentor to new members
  • Participate in the Certification Review Task Group, reviewing applications and exams
  • Engage in short-term task forces, such as:
    • Pre-Conference Workshop Task Force (April 2024)
    • SES Accelerate Course Task Force (June 2024)
    • World Standards Day Paper Review Task Force (October 2024)
    • Technical Bootcamp Task Force (December 2024)
  • Share member testimonials
  • Contribute to social media outreach
  • Offer your expertise as a subject matter expert
  • Volunteer at SES events

How to Get Involved

SES members can express interest in multiple volunteer positions, though appointments are limited to one committee per member. Thank you for your commitment to volunteering. We look forward to working with you.
