SES is proud to announce the 2026 SES Leadership Nominees. These individuals have been nominated to serve in leadership roles on the SES Board of Directors, establishing the policies and strategic direction of the organization.

2026 SES Leadership Nominations

 

President Elect (Officer) – Casandra Robinson, Copperweld Bimetallics

Cassy Robinson recently joined Copperweld, the leading manufacturer of bimetallic conductors, as their Director of Codes & Standards.  Her previous employers include the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s National Urban Security Technology Laboratory, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the Savannah River National Laboratory.

Her focus for nearly 20 years has been leading and supporting diverse teams of experts from federal and private-sector organizations in the development and implementation of standards and conformity assessment programs, primarily for first responders.

Cassy has been a member of SES - the Society for Standardization Professionals since 2014, serving on the Membership and Conference Planning Committees and presenting at several annual conferences. She was honored with the SES Lorne K. Wagner Memorial award and is a Certified Standards Professional.  She is currently the Chair of the ASTM International Board of Directors and Chair of ASTM Committee E54 on Homeland Security Applications.  

Her academic background includes a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University and an M.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Alabama

 

Treasurer (Officer) – Chris Carnahan, Aerospace Industries Association

Chris Carnahan (FSES, SES-ASP) is the Assistant Vice President, Standards for the Aerospace Industries Association.  Chris leads AIA’s National Aerospace Standards program. The National Aerospace Standards are industry standards that provide standard practices and part standards for the aerospace & defense industry. The NAS part standards provide the necessary information to manufacture components and fasteners that are used on commercial and military systems.

Chris oversees AIA’s standards development, accreditation, publishing, and commercial distribution activities. He serves as the staff liaison to AIA's Standards Governance Council, and provides oversight and support to AIA’s standards developing committees, and ISO standards work.

Chris is a Board member for SES - The Society for Standardization Professionals, was awarded the society's Lorne K. Wagner Award for outstanding contribution to the growth and development of SES, and was awarded the designation of SES Fellow in 2020 for over 10 years of service to the Society. He is a founding member and serves on the executive committee of the Digital Standards Alliance. Chris is a member of the ANSI International Forum (AIF), ANSI International Council (AIC), and the ANSI Organizational Member Forum (OMF). 

Before joining AIA, Chris was the Manager, Standards Operations for the Compressed Gas Association, a trade association in the Washington, D.C. area that develops technical and safety standards for the compressed gas and medical gas industry.  Chris has a Master's Degree in Public Administration from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Mary Washington.

 

Secretary (Officer) – Laura Brumsey, Compressed Gas Association, Inc.

Laura Brumsey is the Senior Vice President at the Compressed Gas Association, Inc. (CGA), a leading standards development organization committed to advancing the safe handling, transportation, and use of industrial and medical gases. With more than 17 years of experience in the industrial gases sector, Laura brings deep industry knowledge and a passion for collaboration to her work in standards development.

Laura is actively engaged in the standards community, including the Society of Standardization Professionals (SES) where she serves as a member-at-large on the Board of Directors, and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) where she participates in several working groups and events. She has been featured as a speaker at several standards community events, addressing topics ranging from engaging young professionals in standards work to optimizing standardization processes to keep pace with rapidly emerging industries.

An active member of SES since 2015, Laura brings a collaborative spirit and visionary mindset to the SES Board. She is committed to delivering educational programs that bridge standards expertise with cutting-edge innovation. She thrives on bringing people together to solve complex challenges and is a strong believer in the power of consensus to drive meaningful progress.

Based in McLean, Virginia, Laura holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Consumer Studies from Virginia Tech, and is an ASAE Certified Association Executive (CAE).   

 

Director at Large – Patricia Sena, UL Standards & Engagement

Patricia A. Sena is a veteran in Standards Development working for more than 30 years at UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE). She holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY. As a Standards Engineer, she has collaborated with individuals from a variety of industries to develop and maintain ULSE’s Standards for Safety including those developed and published along with other organizations in the US, Canada, and Mexico, as well as serving as the USNC TAG Secretary to TC 69, Electrical power/energy transfer systems for electrically propelled road vehicles and industrial trucks. In her role as Standards Accreditation Manager, she oversees strategic relationships with key accreditation bodies, including the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Standards Council of Canada (SCC). She is responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance and the successful maintenance of all organizational accreditations.

Patricia is the past Vice-Chair of ANSI’s Board of Standards Review (BSR) and is currently serving ANSI’s Executive Standards Council (ExSC). She has been a member of the Society for Standards Professionals (SES) since 2015 and is the past Chair of the Standards Committee. She was instrumental in the development of SES 3:2016, Recommended Practice for Joint Standards Development, and led the effort to update SES-2 making it more flexible for the SDO community.

 

Director at Large – Casey Granata, NEMA (second term) 

Casey Granata has over 13 years of experience in standards development with UL Standards & Engagement (ULSE) and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). His work spans the full standards lifecycle, including project initiation, consensus building, balloting, and publication. Casey currently serves on the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Board of Standards Review (BSR), evaluating and approving standards for designation as American National Standards.

Casey also currently serve as a Director at Large on the Board of SES – The Society for Standards Professionals, where he helps guide organizational strategy, establish policy, and support professional development across the standards community.

As a Certified Standards Professional (SES-CSP), Casey brings advanced expertise in the principles, techniques, and impacts of standardization. This designation recognizes both his technical knowledge and my contributions to advancing standards practice.

In Casey’s role as Senior Program Manager at NEMA, he leads complex initiatives in the energy grid sector, including energy storage, power systems, and emerging technologies. He specializes in aligning technical strategies with member priorities, fostering consensus across diverse stakeholders, and positioning standards as tools for safety, reliability, and innovation.

 

Director at Large - Director at Large - Jacqueline Campbell, U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission

Jacqueline Campbell is a Voluntary Standards Coordinator with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, where she has worked for nearly 20 years. In this role, she manages the voluntary consensus standard development program. Previous roles at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission also include Senior Textile Technologist and Fire Program Manager and Senior Science and Policy Advisor to the Chairman.
