SES is now accepting nominations for the SES Board of Directors for a two-year term beginning January 2026 through December 2027.
Nomination Deadline: Friday, August 29, 2025
SES is seeking qualified, talented members to run for the officer positions of President-Elect, Treasurer, Secretary, and two Director-at-Large positions to provide our Society with effective leadership. We urge all SES members to consider becoming a nominee.
SES Board service is a chance to grow personally and professionally, to develop skills, gain unique experience, and make lasting connections with a team of passionate and motivated professionals. SES Board service also provides these unique opportunities:
- Develop valuable skills in non-profit governance, program planning, and strategic planning.
- Hone your leadership, consensus building, and delegation skills.
- Expand your network of professional contacts.
- Gain recognition from your employer, community, and peers.
The following positions are now open for nominations:
- President-Elect (officer; and after two years becomes President)
- Treasurer (officer) - incumbent eligible for a second term
- Secretary (officer)
- Director-at-Large - incumbent eligible for a second term
- Director-at-Large - incumbent eligible for a second term
Roles & Responsibilities
President-Elect:
Term: The President-Elect serves a two-year term, and becomes President after two years.
- Serve as a member of the Board Executive Committee.
- Assume the duties of the President, when they are unable including chairing Board meetings, attending a meeting to represent SES.
- Provide support to special projects or initiatives as needed.
- Oversee direction and communications with the Awards Committee.
Treasurer:
Term: The Treasurer serves a two-year term and is eligible for a second two-year term.
- Serve as a member of the Board Executive Committee.
- Review bills paid monthly.
- Reconcile all bank accounts monthly.
- Create Monthly Treasurers Report for Board Meetings.
- Create Annual Budget with Executive Committee and Managing Director.
- Create Annual Conference Breakdown Comparison after conference.
Secretary:
Term: The Secretary serves a two-year term and is eligible for a second two-year term.
- Serve as a member of the Board Executive Committee.
- Assist the President in the preparation and delivery of the SES Board of Directors meetings including agenda, conference call information, tracking of action items, and roll call.
- Capture and distribute SES Board of Director Meeting Minutes.
Director-at-Large:
Term: All Directors serve a two-year term and may be eligible for a second two-year term.
- Participate in and contribute to the Bi-Monthly SES Board of Directors. Meetings and Bi-Annual Strategic Planning Meetings
- Serve as a liaison to one or more SES Committees or Task Group.
- Lead an initiative or project.
