Lorne K. Wagner Memorial Award

 

The Lorne K. Wagner Memorial Award was established in 2001 to recognize an SES member who has made an outstanding contribution to SES. The Award consists of a professionally mounted Citation, and is presented at the SES Annual Conference.

Criteria:

This Award is presented by invitation of the Board of Directors, upon the recommendation of the Awards Committee, to recognize noteworthy contribution or service to the growth and development of SES, through:

  • Exceptional achievement as an SES Officer, or,
  • Exceptional contribution to SES by any member.

The Award is presented on an annual basis.

Only individuals who are current members of SES are eligible for nomination.


2023 Recipient: Tricia Sena

Patricia A. Sena is a thirty-year veteran in Standards Development working for UL Standards & Engagement.  She holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree from Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY.  As a Standards Engineer, she has collaborated with individuals from a variety of industries such as wiring devices, protection devices, medical devices, and electric vehicles to develop and maintain UL’s Standards for Safety including those developed and published along with other organizations in the US, Canada, and Mexico, as well as serving as the USNC TAG Secretary to TC 69, Electrical road vehicles and electric industrial trucks. In her current role as Standards Accreditation Manager, she is responsible for managing relationships with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), while ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements for developing national standards. Patricia is the current Vice-Chair of ANSI’s Board of Standards Review (BSR) and has been a member of the Society for Standardization Professionals (SES) since 2015 where she currently serves as Chair of the Standards Committee.  She was instrumental in the development of SES 3:2016, Recommended Practice for Joint Standards Development, and led the effort to update SES-2 making it more flexible for the SDO community.
