A Guide to Standards

SES and Thompson Consulting, Inc. offer an introductory course covering the development and use of industry standards, the role of conformity assessment systems, and the importance of standards to global trade. The course helps those new to the world of standards to gain an understanding of the basics and provides a refresher for any standards professional. It covers essential information such as what are standards and why are they used, the various types of standards, the standards development process, locating and obtaining standards, and strategic standardization. The course is aimed at corporate management, engineers, government and public administration staff, standards developing organization staff and volunteers, consumers, and faculty and students.
