Claudia Bach is a well-known business owner and Standards Expert. Ms. Bach has owned Document Center Inc., a standards distribution service, since 1985. During that time, she has presided over the development of the company from an idea in a relative’s garage into an internationally respected organization. Document Center Inc. pioneered the use of the web for standards and standards information. Launching it’s first website in 1993, the company significantly influenced the standards community in the US and elsewhere, and the information industry at large.
Ms. Bach chaired the Special Libraries Association (SLA) Standards Roundtable and other sessions for many years. She is a frequent author on topics of interest to the standards community. She has been a speaker at numerous conferences. Ms. Bach was honored with the status of Fellow of SES in 2006. Currently she represents the US and Canada as the SES representative (and VP) of IFAN, the International Federation of Standards Users.
