Join Stephanie Eynon, Alyson Fick, and Karin Lindmark, as they explore the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in standards development and standards participation. They will discuss the results of the two Women in Standards Inclusion
in Standards surveys, as well as previous efforts resulting from the 2018 United Nations Economic Commission for Europe’s (UNECE) Declaration for Gender Responsive Standards and Standards Development, the current state of diversity among standards
organizations, the identified barriers to participation, and ways that standards development organizations seek to enhance the inclusive environments within their development activities.

Stephanie Eynon is the Standards-Makers Engagement and Inclusion Manager at BSI and is responsible for the development and implementation of BSI strategy and policies for equality, diversity and inclusion in standards development
and standards alongside standards-makers engagement, retention and recognition, engagement of young professionals and shared leadership of standards-makers recruitment. Stephanie joined the UNECE Gender Responsive Standards Initiative
(GRSI) at the inaugural meeting where she proposed some form of charter or pledge which standards development organizations could sign to demonstrate their commitment to gender responsive standards and standards development. This idea
ultimately became the UNECE Declaration on Gender Responsive Standards and Standards Development of which Stephanie was one of the lead authors. Stephanie holds a Master of Education (M.Ed) in International Education from Harvard University
Graduate School of Education, a Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in French and Spanish from Muhlenberg College and has over 20 years’ experience in stakeholder engagement and inclusion in the charity and not-for-profit sector. |

Alyson Fick is a Manager in ASTM International’s Technical Committee Operations (TCO) Division. As an ASTM manager, Alyson is responsible for the management of ASTM Committees made up of volunteer member-experts from various industry sectors, such as Petroleum and Plastic. Alyson is responsible for assisting these members as they develop ASTM standards for use around the world to improve product quality, enhance safety, facilitate market access and trade, and build consumer confidence. In addition, Alyson currently serves Women in Standards (WiS) as the Chair of the Committee for Inclusiveness in Standards.
She holds a Bachelor of the Arts degree in International Area Studies and Modern Languages from Drexel University and a Masters in Public Administration from Villanova University.

Karin Lindmark is the Section Manager for Technical Policy and Standardization Services at Swedish Institute for Standards (SIS).
She is also the contact point for gender issues at SIS and especially focuses on the processes around gender responsive standards. With over two decades as a mechanical engineer, Lindmark has held a variety of management positions including
five within the standardization field. She is also a co-convenor of the ISO/IEC JSAG on Gender Responsive Standards and a member of the CEN-CENELC Informal Co-ordination Group for Gender Responsive Standards. She is
passionate about her work on this issue. Additionally Lindmark was a member of the ISO TMB (2017-2020).
