Announcing the 29th Annual SES Conference Keynote Speaker

SES - The Society for Standards Professionals announces Jim Pauley, President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) will be the 69th Annual SES Conference Keynote Speaker. The 2020 SES conference will be held in Charleston, South Carolina at the Charleston Marriott on August 3-5, 2020 and will celebrate “The Value of Standardization and the Standards Professional.”

 

Jim Pauley, President and CEO, NFPA

NFPA is a global, non-profit organization devoted to eliminating death, injury, property and economic loss due to fire, electrical and related hazards. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of the NFPA Research Foundation. Prior to joining NFPA, Mr. Pauley concluded a 30-year career in the electrical and energy industry where he most recently served as Senior Vice President, External Affairs and Government Relations for Schneider Electric.  Mr. Pauley has served in a number of past leadership positions including Chairman of the Board for the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and currently serves as a Director for the Center for Public Safety Excellence. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kentucky and was a licensed professional engineer in Kentucky.

 

“Mr. Pauley is a respected leader in the standardization community and his work at the NFPA and as chairman of the NFPA Research Foundation are an inspiration. We at SES are honored to have him as the keynote speaker for the 69th annual SES conference” said Karin Athanas, Marketing Council Director as the SES.
