SES - The Society for Standards Professionals announced today the theme for the SES 2020 Conference as “The Value of Standardization and the Standards Professional.” The SES Conference will be held in Charleston, South Carolina August 3-6, 2020 and will include presentations, TED-style ‘talks’, panel sessions, and workshops.
For the first time, the 2020 SES Conference will offer two distinct content tracks for a portion of the conference. The content of one track will be tailored to attendees who wish to engage on topics relevant to emerging professionals, while the other will be relevant to experienced standards professionals.
Attendees include students, standards administrators, technical experts who participate in standards development as subject matter experts, standards users, conformity assessment professionals, standards development and publication support organizations, and others who are engaged in standards and conformity assessment.
Karin Athanas, SES Marketing Council Director, commented “The 2019 conference was a great success and included many engaging and thought-provoking sessions. I’m excited to be headed to Charleston, South Carolina in 2020 and look forward to attending and maybe presenting in one of the sessions.”

SES is unique in that it is the only organization in North America committed exclusively to this effort. SES provides a neutral networking forum where standards users and developers can come together to address mutual issues, opportunities, and interests in ways that work to the benefit of everyone involved with, or affected by, standards. The Society’s worldwide membership includes standards developers, users, managers, and information specialists from industry, government, standards developing organizations, trade associations, and academia. SES is the member body for the United States and Canada in the International Federation of Standards Users (IFAN) and accredited by the American National Standards Institute.
