NEWS RELEASE

Release of SES’ first Mobile App to Digitally Distribute SES Content

SES - The Society for Standards Professionals is pleased to announce the release of its first Mobile App developed to digitally distribute the Society’s content directly to your device as soon as it is available. The Mobile App will be available for Android, Apple, and Windows devices via their respective application stores.  There will be an online browser e-reader version for those who cannot connect via mobile device.

The free-of-charge Mobile App will host complimentary content including a summary of SES activities, the SES Annual Conference Program, and the SES monthly member e-newsletter. Additionally, the Mobile App will have access to the members-only portion of the SES website providing seamless access to SES’ Journal Standards Engineering, and other member content.  All this content can be read online or offline on the mobile device app.

Standards Engineering has been available digitally to SES Members and subscribers since 2013 via the SES Website. The Mobile App represents a new stage of delivery for Standards Engineering that will allow members who use the Mobile App to have the Journal ‘pushed’ to them once it has been published. Additionally, the SES Publications Committee, responsible for the oversight of Standards Engineering, will be working in the coming months to improve the digital offerings associated with the Journal.

As SES continues to move into the digital age, the Society will explore other content to be delivered via the Mobile App, including the SES Standards (ANSI/SES 1:2013 – Recommended Practice for Designation and Organization of Standards, SES 2:2011 – Model Procedure for the Development of Standards, and SES 3:2016 – Recommended Practice for Joint Standards Development) and other material distributed by the Society.

The Mobile App will also afford the standards community with the opportunity to have a “True Responsive Ad” on the SES Mobile App. These ads will allow companies the opportunity to present their logo or ad dynamically. The Ads will have a URL click through of the advertiser’s choice and will provide excellent exposure to the products and services advertised.

More details regarding the SES Mobile App can be found on the SES Website or please contact admin@ses-standards.org.

About SES
SES - The Society for Standards Professionals was founded in 1947 as the Standards Engineering Society, a not-for-profit professional membership society dedicated to furthering the knowledge and use of standards and standardization. SES is unique in that it is the only organization in North America committed exclusively to this effort. SES provides a neutral networking forum where standards users and developers can come together to address mutual issues, opportunities, and interests in ways that work to the benefit of everyone involved with, or affected by, standards. The Society’s worldwide membership includes standards developers, users, managers, and information specialists from industry, government, standards developing organizations, trade associations, and academia. SES is the member body for the United States and Canada in the International Federation of Standards Users (IFAN) and accredited by the American National Standards Institute.
