This webinar will discuss current activities in standardization education in the European Standards organizations CEN and CENELEC and in IFAN, the International Federation of Standards Users.
In 2010 CEN and CENELEC established a Joint Working Group on Education about Standardization (JWG-EaS). The webinar will summarize the Masterplan on education and training for standardization in European and at national level to enhance knowledge and skills through education and training; engage academia and enterprises to include standardization as part of lifelong learning; and inform and inspire students and teachers/trainers about the importance of standards and standardization.
IFAN works on education and training about standardization through working group WG 16—Education and training. In 2014, IFAN will publish a new guide about functional areas for which standardization knowledge is needed. The webinar will explain the different degrees of knowledge necessary for the topics related to standardization and possible methods to apply training or education courses.
