IS IT REALLY A ZOO OUT THERE?
The Standards Engineering Society (SES) is pleased to hold its 57th Annual SES Conference in conjunction with two professional development courses and other events at the Marriott San Diego Mission Valley in San Diego, California, during 17-21 August 2008.
The Conference will be held on Monday and Tuesday, 18-19 August. This year's conference will explore the diversity of issues within the standards community and provide an expert panel of speakers on the following topics: Global Standards Development, Standards Development Process Issues, Product Safety, Government Issues and Standards, Business Ramifications of Standards, Post 9/11 Standardization of Critical Infrastructure Protection, and Using Standardization to Address Social Issues.
Highlights of the Conference include:

A Keynote Address by Mr. Robert W. Noth, Manager of Engineering Standards for Deere & Company and Chairman of the Board of the American National Standards Institute

Seven relevant and timely moderated sessions with world renown speakers

Continental Breakfasts, Morning and Afternoon Breaks, and Lunches on both days
Professional development courses will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, 20-21 August

On Wednesday, 20 August, Ms. Diane Thompson will present her much acclaimed course titled, "A Guide to Standards"

On Thursday, 21 August, Ms. Diane Thompson will present a course titled, "Strategic Standardization Management"

Continental Breakfasts, Morning and Afternoon Breaks, and Lunches on both days
There will be two social events during the week as follows:

On Sunday evening, 17 August, everyone is invited to a Special Welcome Reception (no charge)

On Monday evening, 18 August, everyone is invited to join their colleagues at a special reception and dinner at the world famous San Diego Zoo (extra charge)
